Baseball Season is Here: 5 Must Have Game Day Snacks

MLB Opening Day 2018 is just a couple days away. What’s interesting about this season’s Major League Baseball Opening is that all 30 teams will begin playing on March 29th. This is the 1st time this will happen since 1968. Another exciting thing diehard MLB fans look forward to every season is organizing tailgate parties. This brings us to one of the most enjoyable aspects baseball fans anticipate aside from game time: FOOD!

5 MUST HAVE GAME DAY SNACKS

  1.    Wisconsin’s Best Cheese and Sausage Sticks

This combo is probably the easiest tailgate snack to prepare since they are ready-to-eat, which make them an instant hit! Our snack sticks come in a wide variety of flavors, laced with spices combined with a great array of cheese stick flavors such as Colby Jack, Pepper Jack and  Cheddar. This delightful snack can be served as is or combined with other grab-and-go snacks.

  1.    All American Grilled Burger with Wisconsin’s Best Cheese

A tailgate is not complete without the delicious grilled recipes. Hence, this All-American grilled burger with any of Wisconsin’s Best cheeses is a sure crowd pleaser.  Once your burger is just about grilled to perfection, add your favorite cheese and let the meat rest for a couple minutes to allow the cheese to melt and the burger juices to evenly distribute. Once you've allowed your burger to rest, nestle it into a soft, fresh bun, dress it with condiments and other toppings, and enjoy your masterpiece!

  1.    Wisconsin’s Best Cheese Curds

I don’t think we need to say much here except, CHEESE CURDS ARE AMAZING!  If you get the chance, heat up some of Wisconsin’s Best cheese curds in the microwave or over the grill for a few seconds for some added, juicy flavor!

  1. Wisconsin’s Best Charcuterie aka Cheeseboard!

One thing that ALWAYS goes over at tailgate parties is the meat and cheese tray.  Who doesn’t love to make a nice cheeseboard for when guests come over. Summer Sausage is a type of hard dried, seasoned smoked sausage that can be kept without refrigeration.  It doesn’t need to be fancy, a basic cutting board or cookie sheet works great! Cut up some of Wisconsin’s Best cheese and sausage, add items such as pickles, olives and nuts in small bowls and you’re done!

  1. Cheese Dip

You can never go wrong with tailgate cheese dip. Whatever is the outcome of the game, you’ll remain in a good mood with cheese dip by your side. It’s so easy to prepare. All you need are the following: mayonnaise, cream cheese, Wisconsin’s Best Pepper Jack Cheese, Mild Cheddar Cheese, onions, bacon, and a pack of your favorite crackers. Just mix the first 5 ingredients in a mixing bowl. Place the mixed ingredients on a dish and sprinkle crushed crackers on top. Bake at 350 degrees Celsius for about 15 minutes. Top the baked goodie with cooked bacon. Voila!

Whether you’re enjoying the game at home, in your backyard, or outside the stadium parking lot, a good game plus a well-fed enthusiast is equivalent to a great tailgate experience. Happy tailgating!
